Matt's Markdown Editor
======================

A fast, offline Markdown editor for Windows with a live preview.

Requirements
  - Windows 10 or 11
  - Python 3 from python.org
  - Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (Edge ships with Windows, so it works out of
    the box; Chrome is used if present, otherwise Edge).

Install
  1. Unzip somewhere permanent, e.g. %LOCALAPPDATA%\MattsMarkdownEditor
  2. Right-click install.ps1 > Run with PowerShell (no admin needed)

Uninstall: run uninstall.ps1, then delete the folder.

What's new in 1.5 (16 October 2026)
  - Formatted (edit) mode now matches the reading view: content is centred and
    uses the same fonts and heading sizes.
  - In edit mode, the rich editor's own toolbar handles formatting, links and
    images (including inserting an image from your PC, embedded in the file),
    while the File menu, Save and export stay on the main toolbar.
  - Empty link text falls back to the URL.

Earlier: width slider + View/Edit toggle (1.4); WYSIWYG mode + width (1.3);
safe saving/merge (1.2); find-in-preview, reload, PDF/Word/Drive export (1.1).
